Lead Veterinary Technician
Mindy joined our team in April of 2018 as a veterinary technician. She has been working in this field for 13 years and has had a lot of interesting experiences. Since she was a young child, she always wanted to be a veterinarian, and she loves being able to fulfill her dream working with animals every day. One of her favorite parts of her job is educating clients on up-to-date veterinary information and the best practices of caring for their pets. Mindy also appreciates the dedication of the entire stalff for the care and well-being of their patients. One of her greatest accomplishments of her career has been hand-raising and bottle-feeding neonatal kittens until old enough for adoption.
Mindy has a daughter and son at home as well as two dogs, four cats, two rats, and a hamster. In her spare time, she enjoys rollerblading with her dogs, spending time with her family and doing jigsaw puzzles, as well as making paper mâché sculptures!
Dawnell joined the Stetson Hills Animal hospital team in June 2016. Dawnell has been passionate about caring for animals since she was little, and she has now been serving in the animal care industry for over 20 years. She enjoys meeting new clients at the animal hospital and getting to know their fur kids, plus there are many perks working with such an amazing team as well! She also enjoys working toward the Stetson Hills Animal Hospital goal to be a Fear Free Practice. She also has several pets including 2 cats named Simba and Squirrel and 4 dogs named Kos, Kyliegh, Pixie, and Zoey. She is proud of her calming demeanor which is very helpful when working with animals!

Sydney joined the Stetson Hills team in September 2018. She’s currently attending Mesa Community College and looks forward to completing her associate degree in applied science and obtaining vet tech certification. Sydney’s interest in veterinary medicine was piqued when her dog Kiera developed chronic pancreatitis and she wanted to learn more about the disease and other medical conditions.
One of Sydney’s favorite things about working in an animal hospital is getting to meet new people, establishing relationships with our clients and patients, providing animal care and helping to educate our clients about annual prevention. In addition to contributing her skills and talents to our practice, Sydney also works with Maricopa County shelter animals to try and get them adopted.
Along with Kiera, Sydney also has another dog, Jack. Both are Shih Tzu/Poodle mixes. In her spare time, Sydney enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family.

Sam joined our team in April 2021. Growing up, she was always catching snakes and frogs, and was obsessed with the family pets. Her love for animals only grew over time, and she knew she wanted to work in the veterinary field. Sam’s favorite thing about her job at Stetson Hills Animal Hospital is meeting our clients and patients face-to-face and getting to work with a great team. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing when she can (her son Silas keeps her on her toes), cooking, and hiking (when it’s not a million degrees out). Along with her fiancée Doug and her son, Sam’s family also includes a Boston Terrier named Bentley, a cat named Chevy, and a ball python named Snakey.

LeeAnne joined the Stetson family in November of 2020. She has a background in animal husbandry, and one of her most memorable experiences in the field involved taking care of baby snakes (she still has one of the babies she helped save). LeeAnne’s decision to work in veterinary medicine grew out of her mother’s claim that every life is special and should be cared for, and the many animals they saved together over the years. Her favorite part about working at Stetson Hill Animal Hospital is getting to learn new things from our amazing staff and doctors.
LeeAnne has many animals in her care at home, including 26 rats, 4 cats, 2 snakes, and one dog. She has also fostered over 60 litters, with all animals finding forever homes. In her spare time, she cares for her son, reads, fosters bottle babies, and collects books.

Molly’s love for animals drew her to the veterinary field, and she joined our team in July 2021. She attended GCC and Pima Medical Institute, where she earned her associate of science and associate of applied science in veterinary technology. She has a dog named Twyla, and in her free time enjoys hiking, camping, and hanging out with her niece.
Danye became a valued member of our team in June 2021. She started volunteering in the veterinary field as a teenager, and she never left. Today, Danye remains passionate about pet care, and educating clients about their pets’ needs. She’s known around the practice for her efficiency and problem-solving skills, and thanks to her Fear Free Certification, she is able to calm even the most fearful pets during their visits.
Danye, her husband and their 2 sons share their home with 4 dogs named Pig, Virgil, Gibbs, and Rodge, and a cat, Benji. When she’s not working, Danye enjoys fishing, camping, playing with the kids, and vacationing in the mountains or at the beach.

Johanna woke up one day to find herself face-to-face with her dog, and right then and there, she decided she wanted to work with animals. She obtained her associate degree in applied science from Estrella Mountain Community College and is currently in the process of earning her veterinary technician certification from Pima Medical. She’s the first member of her family to go to college, and she’s rightfully proud of that accomplishment!
Johanna loves learning new things every day and being able to care for animals and see them heal and return to their families. She has 2 dogs of her own, a Chug (Chihuahua/Pug mix) named Chance and a Dachshund named Geri. In her free time, Johanna likes going to the gym and watching anime.
Fiona was found as a kitten abandoned and alone on the side of the road on July 9, 2008. Here at the hospital, we took to her right away and it was a joy to watch her grow. She spends her time greeting clients, socializing with the puppies, and being mischievous.
